I've never gotten usable results with Pixel3D either, so I can't give
much help there. I usually import the bitmap into Lightwave Modeler and
use it as a background image and generate an object using curves (much
better results). I'm not sure what country shape you're generating, but
I have seen what MAY be some country-shaped objects at the
"avalon.chinalake.navy.mil" FTP site, under the "objects/obj/space" directory.
I think they are in Wavefront format, which you can import into Lightwave.
You might give that a shot; maybe it will save you some work.
